This course provides knowledge on current research in the field of environmental sociology. The aim of the course is to contribute to a deeper understanding of the relationship between society and environment with particular focus on people´s attitudes, perceptions and behaviour. During the course different perspectives are presented that within the social sciences are relevant in order to understand the challenges the society are facing when it comes to environmental issues. The perspectives presented includes aspects such as responsibility and justice, self-interest versus collective action and regulation of the state versus the market. The relation between attitudes, perceptions and behaviour is also discussed.

90 credits in a major subject within the field of social sciences, where in 15 credits must be at the bachelor level. Proficiency in English equivalent to Swedish upper secondary course English A/6.
Selection
Students applying for courses within a double degree exchange agreement, within the departments own agreements will be given first priority. Then will - in turn - candidates within the departments own agreements, faculty agreements, central exchange agreements and other departmental agreements be selected.
