About the course

The aim of the course is that the student should acquire good knowledge of the structure and reactivity of organic compounds, be able to utilize knowledge of organic reaction mechanisms to suggest synthetic pathways to simple organic molecules and avoid the occurrence of by-products. After the completed course, the student should furthermore be able to apply modern spectroscopic methods for structural determination and identification of organic compounds.

 



The course will be given in english if foreign students participate.

Required Knowledge

Fundamentals of Chemistry 15 hp (5KE165), or the equivlent. English proficiency equivalent to English 6/B from Swedish Upper secondary education. Basic entrance requirements for higher studies in Swedish language proficiency is also required if the course is taught in Swedish.

Selection

Students applying for courses within a double degree exchange agreement, within the departments own agreements will be given first priority. Then will - in turn - candidates within the departments own agreements, faculty agreements, central exchange agreements and other departmental agreements be selected.
