This course examines the popular literary phenomenon of Nordic Noir from an international perspective. The course literature contains works within the genre written by authors located within and outside 'the North,' which will be examined both as a place and an idea. The course consists of a shorter introductory module conducted in English, followed by a specialization module conducted in German.

Outline for distance course
The medium of instruction is English and German. All communication is via the course learning platform. Access to a computer with broadband internet connection is required for participating in and completing the course tasks. Required Knowledge
Knowledge in English equivalent of English 6/English Course B from Swedish upper secondary school. Univ: At least 90 ECTS with academic progression in German including 15 ECTS corresponding to level 61-90 hp in the Swedish academic system, or equivalent knowledge.
Selection
Students applying for courses within a double degree exchange agreement, within the departments own agreements will be given first priority. Then will - in turn - candidates within the departments own agreements, faculty agreements, central exchange agreements and other departmental agreements be selected.
