The main objective of the course is to learn and practice terrestrial and aquatic field methods. The course deals with basic principles for planning and conducting geoecological investigations. During the course, a major field project will be conducted where a lake and its catchment are studied regarding soil properties, water chemistry and sedimentology. The results from the field project will be presented in a report and at a seminar.

120 ECTS credits including 60 ECTS credits earth science/physical geography, or 60 ECTS credits in biology or chemistry or environmental science and 30 ECTS credits in earth science/physical geography, or equivalent knowledge.

Students applying for courses within a double degree exchange agreement, within the departments own agreements will be given first priority. Then will - in turn - candidates within the departments own agreements, faculty agreements, central exchange agreements and other departmental agreements be selected.
