About the course

The course provides a broad knowledge of nature conservation work, and discusses and critically examines the scientific basis on which various nature conservation efforts rest. The focus is also placed on understanding the roles of various actors in nature conservation work, especially ecologists. The course includes an in-depth assignment where the students in groups independently analyze some aspect of the care and conservation of species and ecosystems, as well as excursions where nature conservation measures are studied in the field

Required Knowledge

Univ: 120 ECTS including 60 ECTS Biology of which 30 ECTS Ecology or 60 ECTS earth science/ natural geography or environmental science and 30 ECTS ecology or equivalent knowledge. Proficiency in English equivalent to Swedish upper secondary course English 6.

Selection

Students applying for courses within a double degree exchange agreement, within the departments own agreements will be given first priority. Then will - in turn - candidates within the departments own agreements, faculty agreements, central exchange agreements and other departmental agreements be selected.
