If you see "Reserve" next to your course in the Notification of selection results, this means that you've been placed on a waiting list for that course.
If you are in need of special support due to disability, you should apply for that in good time before you start your studies. Find more information about support for studying with disabilities.

Install MFA for a more secure login
To increase security and reduce the risk of unauthorised access to your information or account, students must enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) to log in to various systems, such as Canvas and the Student Web.
I want to activate my user account and install MFA
If you are an exchange student or tuition fee paying student, you will receive an email with instructions on how to activate your account.
If you are having problems activating your account or logging in, please contact our Servicedesk. You will find answers to common questions, and can submit enquiries.

If you have problems creating your Umu ID or have forgotten your login details, you must contact IT support as soon as possible.

We want to welcome new incoming exchange students at Umeå School of Architecture to an information meeting as part of the Orientation.
The meeting aims to give you information ahead of the semester about studying in Umeå, the programme structure at Umeå School of Architecture, questions about registration, and more.
Time: Monday 20 January, at 08:30
Location: Auditorium, Umeå School of Architecture
Before the start of term we want you to make a studio selection. The studio system is a teaching model that is based on students working together with a team of teachers on a specific research area in Architecture and Urban Design. The studios includes students from more than one year.
You can read about the different studios here: Design studios
You need to make your choice at the latest 13 December by sending an e-mail to uma.admissions@umu.se
Students in year 2 (term 4) can choose between studio 1, 2, 3 and 4.
You should make one first choice, one second choice and one third choice. Studios are allocated based on available seats (places). The number of seats in each studio is limited. If the number of incoming exchange student that wants to join a specific studio exceeds the amount of available seats, the selection will be made randomly among students who have submitted on time.
We cannot guarantee that you get your first, second or third choice of studio.
Tools and materials that you may need in your education will we go into more in detail by the start of the course, but it is good to bring your own pencils, scissors, ruler and sketch pads for the first days already. It can be good to know that approximately the same amount that students on other programmes are expected to spend on literature, are at the Architecture programme distributed over the semester on travelling, materials, tools and literature.
We are pleased that you have decided to study at Umeå School of Architecture (UMA). We hope that you will find that you have made the right choice to gain skills for your future life. We also hope that you will enjoy your time and studies here at Umeå University!
The school is characterised by a vision to work on both local and global contexts. We are located in the north of Sweden, in a rural and relatively sparsely populated region, in a time of extensive globalisation. Our teachers come from within the region as well as from other parts of the world, something that open possibilities for a broad and diverse perspective.
Our aim is to educate future architects that can work for social change, towards a sustainable society, departing from an ethical approach to the profession. We want to educate architects that in their profession are characterized by a social responsibility towards the world they operate in.
Umeå School of Architecture was founded in 2009 and presently has about 300 students in first and second-cycle courses. We are a part of Umeå Arts Campus, a creative environment for research, education and events within architecture, art and design.
