Vehicle Design Analysis 7.5 credits
About the course
The course provides theoretical and practical knowledge about the aspects that influence form in vehicle design. The content is covered in two modules:
Module 1: Vehicle Design Theory (1,5 credits)
During this module a combination of lectures, seminars and a written assignment provide knowledge and opportunity for reflection about factors that influence the configuration of a vehicle.
Module 2: Clay Modelling (6 credits)
Supported by instructor tutorials, students get familiar with the techniques involved in physical model-making using automotive clay as media.

 EligibilityA Bachelor's degree or equivalent first-cycle qualification comprising of at least 180 ECTS or a corresponding qualification from an internationally recognized university. Specific entry requirements are: 60 ECTS credits in the field of Design. Student must have passed all previous master courses on the Transportation Design Programme at Umeå Institute of Design or the equivalent. Proficiency in English equivalent to Swedish upper secondary course English 6/level 2.SelectionIs only given within the programme DAITM. Guaranteed place. ApplicationApplication deadline was 15 October 2025. The application period is closed. 
 Application and tuition feesAs a citizen of a country outside the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland, you are required to pay application and tuition fees for studies at Umeå University.
