The work can be chosen from a variety of topics within the field of physics. The student is given the opportunity to practice her/his knowledge within some supervised specialized project. The aims are to promote advanced skills and competence within the field, to develop skills in collecting and compiling data and in accounting for the results obtained, both orally and in written form.
90 credits including at least 30 credits in physics at advanced level and relevant courses for the thesis. Proficiency in English and Swedish equivalent to the level required for basic eligibility for higher studies. Requirements for Swedish only apply if the course is held in Swedish.
Academic credits
Applicants in some programs at Umeå University have guaranteed admission to this course. The number of places for a single course may therefore be limited.
