The purpose of the course is to prepare the students for a career in the area of crisis management and peacebuilding. The course should develop knowledge and competencies that are required for employment in Sweden, at national or municipality level as well as regional and international level. The internship should be placed at a national or international organization that specializes in crisis management and/or peacebuilding. A local supervisor and contact person should be provided by the internship organization.
This course contains occasions that are included in a degree programme at Umeå university and applies only to those of you who are admitted to the programme. You will receive information about application times and what applies to you from your institution.
90 credits in Peace and Conflict Studies including a thesis or equivalent.
Proficiency in English equivalent to Swedish Upper Secondary course English 6. Where the language of instruction is Swedish, applicants must prove proficiency in Swedish to the level required for basic eligibility for higher studies.
The course is only given as a part of the Master's Programme in Crisis Management and Peacebuilding. To be eligible for the course, it is required to have completed and passed the courses in the first semester of the programme.
