In the year 2000, the Departments of Psychology and Applied Psychology, at Umeå University, Sweden, were united under one department, namely the Department of Psychology. As a new department was formed and a new millennium was starting, it perhaps is interesting to look at the status of our international collaboration during this pivotal transition period. Most importantly because international connections are very important for developing and maintaining high quality research.
Using information collected from departmental documents, such as research programs and applications, and from interviews with departmental staff, we have put together a picture of the department´s international contacts during the first five years after the merger of the two departments.
