Li-COR Odyssey CLx is mainly used for detecting and quantifying Western blots without using chemiluminescence and darkrooms.
Odyssey CLx can also be used for other assays such as In-cell Western blot, EMSA/gel-shift assay, coomassie staining, tissue staining etc.
Image studio software is used for analyse and is easy to use. Image Studio Lite software for Western Blot analysis can be downloaded for free at the LI-COR homepage.
For automated cell separation of e.g. blood, bone marrow and tissue. Homogenisation of tissue can be accomplished by using the attached "gentleMACS™ Octo Dissociator" instrument.
Information about products and applications can be found on the Miltenyi website.
This instrument is used for scanning of high-resolution SNP and DNA methylation arrays.
Laboratory equipment for preparation of arrays along with the scanner can be found in our "Illumina room" at our department, and we also provide services at the Epigenetic platform.
If you have any questions or are interested in using the instrument, you are welcome to contact Sofie Degerman.
Bio-Rad GelDoc XR
Photosystem for easy documentation as well as analysis of several types of gels, both DNA and protein.
The documentation system is available for all to use, but due to health reasons no EtBr-stained gels may be used in the equipment.
Pyrosequencing is a "sequencing-by-synthesis"-technique that enables DNA-sequencing of short amplicon, SNP-analysis and sequencing specific DNA methylation analysis.
Our version of the instrument is not suitable for long term test series but is on the other hand especially adapted for DNA methylation analysis.
The instrument is available through our userclub.
For more information, contact Torbjörn Nilsson, professor at the unit of clinical chemistry.
Illumina MiSeq
A MiSeq for next generation sequencing is available at the department.
PCR
PCR instruments include real-time PCR (qPCR), digital PCR, gene expression analysis, HRM and genotyping.
