This field contains research about ALS, different forms of cancer and diseases in female genetalia.
The unit of Pathology employs about 40 people, seven of which are teachers. The majority of the teachers also work as diagnosticians (consultants/general surgeons) at Clinical Pathology/Cytology, Laboratory medicine at the University Hospital of Northern Sweden.
There is always close collaboration between clinical research units of pathology in Umeå.
Teaching from pathology includes courses within the programmes of Medicine, Biomedicine, dentistry and speech therapy.
