Orthopedics

Orthopedics focuses on the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries and diseases. Orthopedic surgeons treat fractures, osteoarthritis, back problems and sports-related injuries, but also more unusual conditions such as infections, tumours and congenital diseases. Musculoskeletal injuries and diseases are one of the main causes of disability and sick leave. Today, orthopedics is the largest surgical speciality in Sweden in terms of number of operations.
