Doctoral programme

The doctoral programme at the Department of Diagnostics and Intervention is the same as for the entire Faculty of Medicine. The programme aims to provide the doctoral student with the best possible conditions for becoming an independent and critically thinking researcher who is attractive on a broad working market.

The department's research covers many areas. We conduct research in all of our nine subjects, which you can read more about on our home page.

A large proportion of our researchers also work clinically in various specialities at Norrland University Hospital and in the northern regions. There are currently around 110 active doctoral students enrolled.

A doctoral programme involves four years of full-time study in the field of Medical Science. The programme includes a number of courses, independent studies and a thesis.

If you are interested in starting a doctoral programme with us, you can contact us by email: info.ddi@umu.se
