Our Collaborations

A central part of the Arctic Centre's activities is to collaborate with actors within Umeå University, at other universities and in the society. We work to find common meeting places and areas of collaboration.

We collaborate with actors in Arctic issues at local, regional, national and international levels. It can be anything from small collaborations between different departments and researchers within Umeå University, to participation and initiatives with international organisations.

Common meeting places

We organize seminars, conferences and forums together with other departments at Umeå University, as well as together with other universities and actors. Here are some examples of what we organize.

  • Arctic Seminar Series
Organized by us, sometimes in collaboration with guest researchers and other departments at Umeå University.
  • Arctic Forum
Arranged by us, sometimes in collaboration with other universities and organisations.

In addition to our own activities, we are happy to co-organise other people's activities with Arctic-relevant issues. We collaborate closely with, among others, UTRI, TAIGA, CIRC, CERUM, and many of the departments at the university.

A large network of researchers

We have a large and widespread network of researchers, post docs and doctoral students who all have a common interest in research in, about and for Arctic and Nordic areas. The goal of the network is to promote interdisciplinary collaborations where researchers from the entire university can find common research questions and opportunities to learn from each other.
