My research focuses on understanding natural language, exploring models, and developing approaches for language processing. Currently, I am addressing the challenge of assessing the trustworthiness of public information in news articles and social media. I am actively involved in the following projects:

  • A Human-AI Approach to Misinformation Detection in the Context of News Reporting on Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine‘. The project aims to explore the efficacy of utilizing AI tools as a viable approach for detecting misinformation in news articles. This involves three key steps: (1) Creating a comprehensive dataset comprising news articles that cover significant events of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The articles are sourced from established outlets in the USA, EU, Asia, Ukraine, and Russia. Semantic and trust/false annotation of the dataset to enhance its informational richness; (3) Applying Human-AI solutions to identify and categorize misinformation within the news articles.
  • Building TRUST in Social Media: Assessing the Trustworthiness of Public Information on Ukrainian Migration to Europe’. The project aims to develop an actionable AI-based approach for objectively assessing information trustworthiness on social media. This approach is grounded in the integration of AI algorithms such as ML, text analytics, and event argument extraction. The methodology is applied to analyze textual information in multiple languages obtained from social networks and focuses on considering key ethical, legal, and societal issues related to the migration of Ukrainians to European countries due to the ongoing Russian invasion.
