Researchers at Umeå University can publish free of charge with open access in a large number of journals thanks to the library's agreement and from 2024 also through the research funders' new open access initiative.
The library has three new agreements for 2024 where you who conduct research at Umeå University can publish with open access without having to pay the publication cost (APC, article processing charge).
Bristol University Press Open access publishing and reading in 20 social science journals. Terms and conditions

Agreements via research funders
The four research funding bodies, the Swedish Research Council, Forte, Formas and Vinnova, have decided to jointly fund publication in 2024 and 2025 with some publishers that only publish fully open access journals. This means that researchers at Umeå University can publish articles in journals free of charge from the publishers listed below:
Copernicus Publications Copernicus publishes journals mainly in earth sciences and related fields, currently close to 50 open access journals. Terms and conditions

Frontiers Frontiers publishes journals in medicine, science, technology, humanities and social sciences, currently nearly 230 open access journals. Terms and conditions
JMIR Publications JMIR Publications publishes 35 open access journals in the fields of e-health, telemedicine and medical informatics. Terms and conditions
MJS Publishing MJS Publishing (formerly Medical Journals Sweden) is a Swedish publisher that only publishes fully open access journals in the field of medicine. At present, they publish nine journals. Terms and conditions
